History

La Société de Distribution Africaine (SDA) was established in 2008, but its roots go well back into the nineties of the former century, when Philippe de Moerloose established Demimpex, specializing in the sale and export of spare parts to Africa. The company grew quickly, on the one hand through organic growth and joint ventures, on the other hand through the acquisition of competitors such as Vehicle Repair Parts (VRP) in 1995, Transco in 1999 and Auto Transport Company (ATC) in 2001.

2011 and 2012 are key in the development of SDA Group. In 2011 three fully separated subsidiaries were established: Swedish Machinery and Trucks (SMT), Demimpex Motors and Demimpex Equipment. 2012 saw the integration of Demimpex Motor’s activities with those of Optorg’s subsidiaries, under the newly established company Tractafric Motors Corporation. This same year Multitech was integrated by SMT in its network.

All subsidiaries are now in the process of setting up the necessary structures, recruiting more talented people and developing their activities, while SDA is now fully geared towards giving them corporate support.
